Day Seven

Haleakala Volcano - Maui

Today we went on a volcano hike in Haleakala national park. This hike was 20km's and boy was it a killer. First it was ok, because it was mostly downhill to start, and then flat. But then if just started to get tedious. The scenary was pretty awesome though. So much diversity, it was incredible. We saw the Nai Nai goose. It's pretty funny and makes a crazy sound. They were not shy either. They would come up to you to see what food you have. This volcano is over 3000m above sea level. It was huge and we were above the clouds. the whole time. The last bit of the hike was over 4km up hill. This was crazy and it just felt like it went on and on forever. I just wanted to get out of there. It was nice but the hike was so hard. After the hikle we went up to the summit to watch the beautiful sunset. It was incredible. The clouds were a brilliant colour. It was the best sunset. We also watched the full moon come up. That was really cool. I thought I had put enough sunscreen on but I forgot to put in in a few places and now I have a huge red triangle right where my collar ended.n835375205..41_6318.jpg
