Mia's Hawaii Trip 2007

So this has got to be the adventure that I never thought I would ever have. Traveling by myself around this beautiful state of Hawaii. And gosh is it beautiful. My first stop is Maui and I am staying at the Banana Bungalow. I've made friends already, it is such a friendly hostel. This afternoon, Heidi, Julie, Simon, Christian and I hitch hiked to this beach called Mekena. I couldn't believe we actually did that. I sat in the car while the others sat in the tray on the back of the ute. I chatted with this lovely couple. They dropped us of close but we still needed to get further. So we hitch hiked again. This beach was absolutley untouched. We climbed this cliff and over the other side of it was another smaller beach called "Little Beach". This was a clothing optional beach and yes I have never seen so many naked people in my life. I went swimming and watched a beautiful sunset. People then started a drum circle and dancing. Fire twirling came next and it was a pretty cool site to see. After it was all over, we caught a ride back to the hostel with Chad who we had met earlier in the day. It was a pretty sensational day for my first day in Hawaii.
