Day Twelve

Volcano Hike - Hilo

Today I went on the Arnott's lodge adventure - The lava hike. This volcano is an active volcano. We first went to the visitors centre and then onto our hike. It was raining so the view wasn't that good. We then went down to the lava tubes. This was pretty cool. It was a cave like tunnel. Next we did a Volcano Wineary tour. I even got to taste all the wines. I just lied about my age. I didn't like any of them anyway. Then we headed to the Macadamia nut factory. Here you can see the massive orchards and how the nuts are processed in the factories. I tryed a few different types of macadamia nut and then bought a ring from Maui Divers Jewellry. I got to pick a clam and the lady got a pink one out of it. She said that they are more rare and that it was a good size. I then picked a ring for it to go on. I picked a delicate on with a diamond. It is beautiful. We then went through Hilo town to get to this place by the bay. We did a little hike to get down to the water. It was a very pretty place and you can walk though the botanical gardens. Our final place we went to was Akaka Falls. This waterfall was massive. Made everything else I've seen look like crap. Was a pretty impressive sight. In the night I stayed up and talked to Frank and Peter downstairs. Dena and I cooked pizza for dinner and it was a bit of a disaster, but it turned out alright. n835375205..69_3829.jpg
